Standard air-over condensing on the smaller distillation units means no auxiliary
cooling supply is required for the distillation process. Water cooling is available as an option on the
smaller distillation machines.
Larger industrial distillation equipment are almost always cooled by water
but can be cooled by air depending on the solvent you wish to distill.
Shown at right is a top mounted water cooled condenser to cool the solvent
vapour back to a liquid after the distillation process.
