Internal Scraper Blade

An internal scarper blade is used in the smaller distillation units called the Dynamic Series. The dynamic Series distillation equipment is constructed the same as the DIstatic Series distillation machines, but includes the optional scraping blade.  The structure of the blade is made of Stainless Steel, but the scraper end is made of brass to eliminate the possibility of a spark while rotating during the distillation process.

The scraper also assists in the residue unloading when the distillation unit is rotated for cleaning and removing the still bottom.  Even large industrial units had the ability to utilize the internal scraper in the boiling chamber.  The scraper helps to eliminate any build-up of residual and maintain consistent heat transfer into the solvent being distilled.  The scraper also assists to reduce the residual to a possible powder for disposal depending which solvent you are distilling and reclaiming.

On the distillation units of the DYnamic Series, a push button safety switch is placed near the opening of the boiler and acts as an emergency stop for the scraper.

Motor shaft gaskets are lubricated by oil and compressed air.  In the “DYnamic” units this lubrication avoid that solvent can go into the rotating parts of the mixer device, guarantying a long life of the gaskets and the mechanical components of the shaft.
